Are digital games educational? Sure they are.
They teach you that if you do what the machine wants you to do, you will be successful.

There was a time when Tootle (the Train, a 1945 children's book about the importance of "staying on the tracks") was in most American households. There was another later time when academics scorned the book. The debate continues.

Now, whenever I encounter a Facebook interface in an unexpected place in somebody else's website, or a path to media that has to go through iTunes, I feel like that the maze walls are rising around us. The rat race is becoming the rat maze; with specific, calculated paths laid out for us by the masters.
