Chapter 6

When you work, you're not productive every day. When you don't work, you're not necessarily taking a vacation day.

Some days I'm pretty productive. Other days I don't do anything that goes anywhere. I just kind of drift. But on those days I still feel all the pressure of trying to achieve something. Usually, more pressure, because whatever it is in my software that's stopping me from picking up a task, it's in an energy-draining, anxiety-generating tug of war with my conscious desire to be productive. I end those days quite fatigued.

Probably the reason we have holidays and Sundays and days off is just to quell that inner beast so that we can really rest instead of sitting and churning.
