Chapter 11

Men, at least this one, need a constant stream of little accomplishments in order to stay alive. I couldn't go through life without doing something cool once in a while.

For me, the easiest and most reliable outlet is the basement workshop. It could be the stupidest thing, like liberating the amplifier from a $7.00 garage sale set of computer speakers, and turning it into a useful freestanding small hi-fi amp. Or putting an AC outlet somewhere where there isn't one and there ought to be. Or restoring a fabulous Fifties plastic radio. Anything.

Just any little thing that, when you're done, you can stand back and say,
"That was cool".
