If someone commits a crime, it's a crime.

If a jury just up and decides that the person committing the crime "hated" the victim -- having absolutely no possible knowledge of what is in the guy's head -- he serves a more likely conviction and a more severe sentence.

This means that you can serve jail time for your thoughts.
And not even your own thoughts: For what someone you never met imagines that your thoughts were, one day some time ago.
