Chapter 15

Once in a while, some organization proposes some action to reduce fraud in US elections. Always and every time, some other groups and individuals rise up -- not against the voting fraud but against the action to prevent it.

How can people even pretend to say that being against Voter ID isn't being in favor of Voter Fraud?

What possible reason could anyone have for removing the ID requirement, except so that they can cheat?

2012 Election Update: I've read about several cases in this year's election in which people would go early in the day to a polling place. They were carrying the name of a member of a party that they wanted to defeat, and announced themselves to the check-in people by that name. When the owner of the name arrived later in the day, he found that his vote had been stolen by someone else, and there was nothing that he could do about it.

This, of course, is one reason why one side is so against voter ID -- without ID, cheating is effortless. There are plenty more.
