Managers are usually more or less socially successful people. That's how they got promoted to management. The working medium of managers is humans, and the skill set for people who need to operate humans is the social skill set.

Socially successful people are averse to innovation. They have to be. Innovation begins with deviation, with nonconformity. Nonconformity is poison to social success.

In business, on a personal level, the fewer ideas you have the better off you are. If you never have any ideas at all, you can be a manager.
