So I decide I want to be a little more normal, and what is more normal than being in touch with the major popular movies that "everyone" has seen? I go out and get two of the major popular movies that "everyone" has seen: Bull Durham and When Harry Met Sally.
First I put in Bull Durham. The introduction of the male lead, who presumably is who the story is about -- the first time we see him he's fucking some slut in the locker room before the game. I mean, we see him doing it.
Well, that's not very culturally enriching. Out it went.
I tried When Harry Met Sally. Here the male lead was the biggest asshole that the writers could possibly conjure. I stuck with that for 16 minutes before bailing out.
That's not very culturally enriching, either.
Is this what society is like now? I mean, how could anyone complain about anything I do when popular society is so much worse?
By the way, regarding the fucking, I have nothing against porn. In fact I like it just fine, when it is tasteful and fun and benevolent, which unfortunately is the minority of examples.
But when I'm not observing porn, I’m not in that mode. I don't want it shoved at me all the time, in every context, always. I think that most people don't. Your toilet is in a little private room, not out in the living room. That's the way I like it. I think that that's the way most people like it.
